Bits & Pieces from our new life in Perth

Our new life in Western Australia is a smooth succession of very nice time shared together with new friends, old friends and close family. It’s a blessing to be surrounded by such good people, while redeveloping a new routine and way of life around a cute and well-located little townhouse.
Laetitia & Oceane are settling in very well at the nearby Montessori School, also thanks to Momo and Yeye who have been speaking English with them intensively during their six weeks stay with us. Auntie Evi also managed to come and visit us over Easter and we are all together having a few very relaxing days around Perth.

The windy season has ended now, but at least I can say today that I improved a little bit my Kiteboarding skills since October. We had some great windy days, and I even got into strapless wave-riding during our numerous “after work” downwinder sessions near Scarborough. Momo and Yeye's presence meant, Patrick and I could even ride at the same time, while the kids enjoyed comfy (no sand-blasting!) company with their grandparents.
We have met loads of enthusiastic kiteboarders on our weekend endeavours along the coast. Now we simply go to one of the kitespots in the city when there is wind, and we'll say hello to a bunch of friends. We've also had friends from Sydney come over, including Fanny and Sam who are doing a 4WD trip around the continent - they make us relive our own adventures, while giving us lots of inspiration for new sites to visit as well ;-)
The most impressive natural phenomenon for me here in Perth is the huge yellowish full moon rising every month. One can watch it through the dunes at late evening kitesurfing session or while having fun stand up paddle boarding on the Swan River at nighttime. The cloudless skies make it easy for every 1.4 million inhabitant of the City to enjoy this spectacle for free! We are loving it here and look forward for the next winter and summer cycle with much excitement!
