Kimberley Flash News (2)

We've finally arrived in Derby. Sunset is amazing here, you can't imagine all the tones of red until you see a sunset here from the jetty.

Derby geographically marks the end of our trip through the Kimberley. Emotionally, we said goodbye in several ways over the last few days: Swiss Cheese Foundue at a sunset lookout in the Bungle Bungles, repeat visit to the public swimming pool in Halls Creek after 5 weeks, return to the bushcamp of our dreams we discovered on our first crossing of the Oskar Ranges, second tributary visit to Jandamarra's Tunnel Creek before reaching Windjana Gorge to attend the Jandamarra theatre play we'd so much looked forward to over the last few weeks. Jandamarra was a local "blackfeller" who led a guerilla action against early settlers in the Western Kimberley region.

We took advantage of Derby's internet connection to upload the rest of our photo selections of the Kimberley trip:

Mitchell Plateau (North Kimberley including access to Admiralty Gulf)

Karunje Track and Wyndham (Second part of Gibb River Road, with alternative route into Wyndham)

El Questro, Bungle Bungles and into Derby

West Kimberley (Note: already provided in previous blog entry)

We are now heading to Broome and Cape Leveque where we will start our West Coast chapter of the journey. Hope you enjoy the pics!!!
