Bye Bye Winter

If there's one thing you wish when living near a beautiful Ocean beach, it's an endless summer. However, wintertime in Sydney can be the most beautiful time in the year, with great sunny days, less danger of catching a sunburn, fabulous surf conditions, and the good chance to spot some humpback whales 50m off the beach on their annual journey along the East Coast. Even Maroubra Beach can be completely deserted on a Sunday afternoon. Most people stay at home because it feels so cold inside the typically poorly insulated and drafty homes. Sitting in front of the TV in the dark, they can't imagine how nice and warm it can be at the sime time out there at the beach under the sun. Also, this is the best time to prepare long coastal walks and visit the bush. But this year, the cold and humid had the overhand, and the few sunny days were simply too short to compensate. Even the doctor diagnosed that I had minimal Vitamin D levels and suggested I spend more time in the sun... Well, we've decided to shorten the wait till spring-time and booked tickets for Fiji. Right now, you can imagine us somewhere in the warm, near a blue lagoon, chilling and all that... We also hope to catch some wind for kitesurfing. More news and pics soon! Look forward!
