We left 2009 with a humid taste of Queensland, a better idea of what could be a road trip with toddlers and the even stronger intention to start to live our adventurous dreams again.
In March, Patrick’s parents arrived from Switzerland via Hong Kong to pass a whole month with their grand-children. Momo’s luggage was full of baby clothes and gifts – what kind of a Christmas feeling for the kids…and then the Three Wise Men brought a additional, really invaluable present: The grand-parents staid home babysitting so that Patrick and I could fly over to Western Australia for 8 days kite surfing between Perth and Gnaraloo.
The presence of Momo and Yeye and their care for the girls also had special repercussions on their daily behavior: Once back, Laetita and Oceane couldn’t stop clinging onto me like possums. Sometimes I felt like being a real tree, not able to do anything else than comforting my people while growing roots. But the lasting benefit is that my daughters really got to know their grand parents. They all had lots of fun!
